Mix 100 songs in a year!!!! My plan for 2018 is to mix 100 songs. That may not seem like a lot if you work on songs for 4-6 hours, but, I like to take my time and put out the best product I possibly can. I also have a life outside of the studio. (GASP) What? Yes, I do. Besides mixing I like to spend time with my family and do research(watch movies/play games). But, with my first college degree behind me, I plan on stepping up the quality and proficiency of my work by mixing 100 Songs in 2018. Where are these songs going to come from? I don't know. Matthew Heath has a great track record for pumping out the hits. I've also made some new connections with a few very talented producers who hopefully will keep me up to my eyeballs in work. In celebration of this endeavor, throughout the year I'll be running promotions all year long. Stay tuned for details.
Working on another track for The Bashfuls. You're gonna love it.
Last night at Atlanta Pro Audio Mr Brian Preston offered an inside look at how he uses UA plugins to write, record, mix and master music for TV and radio ads within 24-48 hours. Really interesting. He has about 6 plugins he uses every time. The Neve 33609, 1081, precision eq, Manley Massive Passive, 140 Plate Verb, and and either the La2a or the blue stripe 1176. I was inspired to head to the studio and do some work.
Check out Brian Preston's work on his site.
Weekly planning meeting with my manager and producer extraordinaire @mattheathmusic @revcoffee
